Sure, aging is inevitable, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to give into wrinkles - especially when you’re just in your 20s or early 30s! Here are six easy ways you can delay the onset of fine lines without resorting to expensive derma treatments. 

1. Limit sun exposure.

It’s a fact: Sun exposure is responsible for around 80% of the signs of skin aging, particularly wrinkles. You’re especially vulnerable this summer season, when the sun’s rays are stronger and a whole lot harsher. If you must hit the beach, avoid the hours when the sun is at its peak - from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - and don’t forget to apply (and re-apply!) sunscreen.

2. Moisturize and protect.

Imagine a pot of unwatered soil that’s starting to harden and crack - that’s what happens to your skin when it’s dry. Read the label and look for a moisturizer that has glycerin to draw in moisture and Intelligent Pro-Cell Complex to nourish while boosting collagen production. Those chic aviators aren’t just porma tools; they work to protect your eyes from the sun’s rays so you don’t need to squint when you’re outdoors. Why is this important? Constant squinting - which involves scrunching up the skin - makes you more prone to fine lines and wrinkles, primarily on the forehead and around your peepers.

5. Stop smoking.

Ditch those cancer sticks! Aside from damaging the environment (and your lungs), the nicotine in cigarettes cause the narrowing of the blood vessels in your skin, inhibiting the flow of oxygen and important nutrients necessary to keep it healthy and young-looking.

6. Get enough Zzz’s.

When you’re sleep-deprived, skin is unable to maximize repair and skin cell regeneration, which naturally happens at night during slumbertime. The result? The damage piles up and you’ll age a lot faster than you’re supposed to!
